Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County

The Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County (HfHKC) announced the hiring of Christon Clark as Executive Director effective 9/12/11. Christon came to HfHKC from Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Indiana where he spent the previous two years as the fundraising chair as well as the volunteer coordinator through the AmeriCorps/Indiana HabiCorps program. "We are pleased to have someone with Christon's Habitat experience to lead the affiliate," Board President Evelyn Steffen said.

In his time in Northeast Indiana Christon initiated several innovative fundraising programs as well as collaborations with various other non-profit agencies within DeKalb, Noble and Steuben counties. His affiliate was acknowledged as 2010's Small Affiliate of the Year by Habitat for Humanity of Indiana for such work. Christon was instrumental in the affiliate's first time participation in National Women Build Week sponsored by Lowe's earlier this spring, something he hopes to bring to Kosciusko next spring.

In addition to his work in Indiana, Christon has also traveled to El Salvador to work on Habitat projects and in fact is leading a trip in early March 2012 back to El Salvador.

Prior to his Habitat experience Christon worked for an international non-profit as well as owned a golf equipment business. He volunteers with Junior Achievement and in the Steuben County Literacy Coalition's REAL Men Read program. Christon is also a Rotary and Kiwanis member.
